Drying takes place from direct sunlight, heat of the sun absorbed by the tiles, as well as airflow, over the parchment.   Temperature: 35º C Average time of drying: 7 - 14 days

Patios

Raised Beds Coffee is spread onto beds, made up of mesh material, suspended on wooden frames. Parchment is piled in one layer, 1-2 inches thick, and is turned every hour. Drying takes place from direct sunlight and airflow, over and through the the mesh material.  Temperature: 30º C  Average time of drying : 10 - 14 days

Raised Beds 

Coffee is spread onto beds, made up of mesh material, suspended on wooden frames. Parchment is piled in a single, 1-2 inch thick layer, and is turned every hour. Drying takes place from direct sunglight and airflow, over and through the mesh material. 

Temperatur: 25-30° C 
Average time of drying: 10-14 days
 


Mechanical Drier (Vertical) Coffee is pre-dried for a minimum of two days on the patio, before being loaded into the drier. Inside, parchment coffee is heated by hot air, created by furnaces burning husk. The parchment is circulated through the vertical drum once per hour.  Temperature: 35º - 45º C Time: 2 - 3 days, after pre-dry.

Hot air is created by a furnace burning husk, and circulate with the coffee throughout the drying process.  Temperature: 35º-45º C Time: 2-3 days, after pre-dry.

Coffee is pre-dried on the patio for a minimum of two days, before being loaded into the dryer. Inside, parchment coffee is circulated by paddles rotating within the perforated cylindrical drum.
